THE BRIDE TO PEACE
TRIBUTE TO PIPPA BACCA (Collettiva)

The International Association of Art The/Unesco A.I.A.P.Turkish National Commitee (UPSD) is organizing an exhibition and a forum; ”BRIDE TO PEACE”, in the loving memory of Pippa Bacca. The young Italian artist was unfortunately murdered on March,  31 2008 as she was hitchhiking through Turkey, choosing to have faith in human beings as part of the performance “Brides on Tour”. She had undertaken that project with her fellow artist friend, Silvia Moro.

32 Turkish and about 37 Italian artists are participating to this attributed event titled “Bride to Peace” which will take place between October, the 8th and November, the 7th, 2008 at the Gallery of The UPSD.  This event is organized by UPSD with the contributions of the Sisli Municipality, Italian Cultural Institute and Piramid Art Center. The show will carry a catalogue of 120 pages prepared by our association, sponsored  by The Sisli Municipality. The mayor of Sisli Mr. Mustafa Sarigül had also participated  to the funeral of Pippa (Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo) on April, the 19th, 2008.

CENTRO CONGRESSI CITTÀ DI LUXOR - EGITTO

Anche quest’anno, l’Associazione Culturale Europa, con la collaborazione dell’Associazione Cleopatra e, il contributo della Regione Piemonte, ha voluto proseguire al Centro Congressi città di Luxor, il cammino d’Arte iniziato nel 2006 alla Casa dell’Opera del Cairo con “Popoli in Viaggio” e nel 2007 alla Biblioteca Internazionale di Alessandria d’Egitto con “Piemonte in Egitto per la Pace” La mostra non nasce fine a se stessa ma, come mezzo che possa coinvolgere in modo operativo più realtà, generando condizioni allargate di sensibilizzazione nel rapporto tra arte-cultura e territorio, creando ulteriori momenti pubblici e di conoscenza tra i popoli, un’integrazione con le Associazioni d’Arte Egiziane, sensibili alle conoscenze della nostra Regione. Il percorso della mostra che si terrà al Centro Congressi della città di Luxor, ed avrà come espositori 26 Artisti Italiani e Artisti Egiziani nell’unione Europea del Mediterraneo e, sarà in concomitanza con i festeggiamenti dell’anniversario della città.

1a BIENAL INTERNACIONAL DE ARTE CONTEMPORANEO CHAPINGO 2008 7-19 novembre - Messico An alternative viewpoint A contemporary art biennial in Chapingo? is the question asked by many when mentioning the organization of the First Biennial of Contemporary Art with Roots in the Earth. The Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (UACh) is known and recognized as one of the best universities of agronomy. At first glance, the perception is that it has nothing to do with artistic manifestations, however, there are many more affinities than disparities. As explained by the author of the idea and general coordinator of the Biennial, the painter Juan Jorge Díaz Rivera; “The inherent conditions of the institution, which are teaching, research and promotion of culture, lend themselves to an event such as this and for many other artistic activities. Furthermore, the tradition of the UACh in the field of art, along with its cultural patrimony (internationally recognized), practically obliges an event of these characteristics to take place in this institution, where artists from all over the world converge with different visions of the aesthetic aspect. It goes beyond the aesthetic vision (in view of the substance of the mission of the UACh: the earth) of the artists. It demands a reflexion of the terrible aggression suffered by nature, the entire planet. This is extemely useful for the institution, because we believe that along with research and academic endeavor, there are other visions, such as those of the artists, who can propose alternatives. Art is not just an image, it includes a concept of what can be done. The idea is to include diverse visions with respect to “Mother Earth” with the lema “Art with Roots in the Earth”.
